The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) approves the use of real flight simulator software as part of every pilot's training curriculum. Simulators may be used whether you are earning your pilot's license, you need to maintain currency, you need to meet proficiency standards, or whether you are seeking to earn more advanced flight ratings. Not all flight simulators are approved however.
